The tour to Bordeaux for the World Cup game between Ireland and Georgia and the match between Clonakilty Vets and Archiball Bordeaux is at an advanced stage of the planning process. To date thirty one geriatrics have signed on to risk life and limb in the chateaux of Bordeaux and indeed on the playing field of the magnificent Begles stadium. The trip will commence with a soiree in The Sin Bin in Limerick on Thursday 13th september with check in at Shannon airport conveniently arranged for 4.00am. A full itinerary and list of travellers will be added in the near future. In the meantime a date for your diary is Friday 29th June. The tourists will be having a fundraising BBQ in The Emmet Hotel, the tour main sponsor, on that evening and further details on this will also appear here shortly. Participants are requested to bring brief notes on their personal and playing careers for use in the tour programme which will appear with photo in the pen picture section. Measurements for tour dress will also be required on this night. There could be some places still available but terms and conditions apply. Some of the criteria are an ability to go without sleep, an ability to entertain in song, story or by an amusing interaction with domestic or farm animals. A compulsive, obsessive desire to buy a round is a highly prized attribute and will guarantee inclusion in almost all activities. Flatulence will have the opposite effect and is punishable by stoning. Some people find this amusing - flatulence not stoning - but this will not be condoned. The deposit for the trip is €300 and can be given directly to West Cork Travel/Beacon Travel in Rossa street. It is expected that the tour cost will not exceed €500 in total to include travel, accommodation, food and gear.
